Maher Aoun is a seasoned fintech professional with over 15 years of experience across EMEA, Southeast Asia, and the USA. He currently serves as the Head of Growth at Wafeq, a leading financial software company that recently secured a $7.5 million Series A funding round to accelerate its expansion.

Maher holds a Master’s degree in Management Science and Engineering from Stanford University, class of 2005, where he was an active member of the Graduate Student Council. He also earned a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with distinction from the American University of Beirut.​

Beyond his professional endeavors, Maher is deeply committed to the Stanford community. He has been a member of the UAE Stanford Alumni Board since 2015, serving as Treasurer before becoming President in 2017. In his leisure time, Maher enjoys organizing events that foster entrepreneurship and innovation, reflecting his dedication to empowering the next generation of business leaders.
